FOOTBALL HANDBOOK by Lorraine Strieby aka Mayor Molly McMole

Football Handbook is helpful in that it teaches some of the basic rules using a surprise technique--a fun read, and me as Mayor Molly McMole likes to solve problems. Well, I found a problem in my new mole hole underneath a high school bleacher where we dug in--meaning a mole hole that was going to be undetected. You know we are a sneaky bunch--built our town under this nice flat grassy field, which to our shock happened to be a football field and the head coach had a losing streak--three straight years. Well, with help of my friend and cohort, Cat Sophia, there was a surprising adventure into football lore. Strieby's sixth book is she showing off her knowledge of football--I better quit this typing now because I hear her car in the driveway. Bye for now, mole hole here I come. INDEPENDENCE DAY, ROLLS AROUND EVERY 4TH OF JULY---CAN'T FORGET OUR FOREFATHERS AND HISTORY-- A YEARLY REMINDER

Lorraine Strieby says Happy Independence Day! Our forefathers when they signed the Declaration of Independence, they knew if Commander George Washington didn't win the war with England, the most powerful country in the world, they would be tried for treason. It took 5 more years to win the war making our nation truly an independent nation. Our original states and the people therein wanted freedom from tyrany. Have we forgotten our history and our men and women who fought for our freedom? In keeping with this, here are some words that President Reagan spoke on January 5, 1967: tThe deteriation of every government begins with the decay of the principle upon which it was founded, He also said Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. Im glad Independence Day rolls around every year, Yea! we can't forget our history and our forefathers. In keeping with that, the USA is also a REPUBLIC meaning that we the public elect our representives in each individual state--both large and small, two senators each. Clever, yes? The smaller states have equal power with the more populated states. Independence Day rolls around every year, reminding us of how our ancestors made a free nation. our forefathers, and our history. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY - HISTORY MYSTERY - WHEN WAS THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR WON, HINT it wasn't July 4th, 1776

IMG_3377.JPG History Mystery—Benjamin Franklin was 😎 Cool When our forefathers signed The Declaration of Independence they could be executed for defying the most powerful country in the world. They had guts—yes… We didn’t win our independence yet. Washington was in NYC with our troops. The forefather Franklin (below) helped win the war. Washington had a plan—we will get them in Yorktown and it took him 5 years 1781. Franklyn went to France to visit the Royal Court. The ladies thought he was cool. There he got France to join us by delivering 24 ships and an admiral De Grasse and the biggest gun ship in the world. Cornwallis didn’t have a clue and the Brits were humiliated at Yorktown. Washington and Warrant Officer black Billy Lee were there to meet and greet Cornwallis but he was cowering in his Redoubt Get the message. “And the rockets red glare” That was De Grasse taking out the Brit’s’ ships with rockets! Bet you weren’t taught this in school. Lorraine Strieby AKA Mayor Molly McMole NOTE: Franklin always wore his coonskin hat with his uniform and the French ladies thought he was charming 😎 and cool.
