A BLACK MAN AND A WHITE MAN BIRTHED THE USA, WHO WAS MR. BILLY LEE?

If you look up the black man who still after 250 years, the black man who saved George Washington's life more than once and had an Honorable Discharge from the Revolutionary

War.  Commander-ini-Chief Washington built him a house on his Estate,

and you still get remarks like this:

He was just a slave and not worth looking up, is total ignorance.

This black man saved this Country and 

historians of the day hid him from us.

Washington wouldn't go anywhere without him.

He was the best horseman in the Colonies.

Get this:  After the war, the Colonists visited Mount Vernon

to see him ride his horse, Chinkling.

Shame on the people who live in the original Colonies who are

ignorant of this man and say, "he was just a slave."

HISTORY REWRITTEN

That  is Major Washington in buckskin and a coonskin hat and that man to the far
right is Zackquill Morgan who fought in the French Indian War and was a Colonel
in the Revolution.  Oh yes, he founded Morgantown.  AND they are raafting UP
the Monongahela River which flows North, one of the few rivers that does.

The students at Skyview Elementary probably know more about the American Revolution
than anyone in Monongalia County, that includes
The teachers and the students' parents  know more.
YEA SKYVIEW!  Perhaps some students will be historians or artists.

Hey, I used to be a teacher and have traveled the world.

George Washington and his Aide, Mr Billy Lee,
Son of Colonel John Lee. He was one of the
greatest heroes around. Joseph Ellis, author of
THE BALLAD OF BILLY LEE won the Pulitzer.
Repeat...Mr. Billy Lee was one of the greatest American
heroes—ever.

I believe that because he was black, historians of
the day couldn’t believe this could be true.
Well, it is and my fifth book I had to play
detective. But the facts are true. I find
that some today can’t believe it. Well, get
over it.

By the way, if you look up Mr Billy Lee on the
Internet you will find 69,000,000 hits and the
first two images are painted by yours truly.
There are other images of mine, too, so my energy
was well spent ( has 40) images, took 4 years of study,
rewrites, and then the illustrations. Most
authors couldn’t afford me as an
Illustrator.

One more thing—Please count the owls in
the book, you will see 10 probably but there are
11. When you buy the book, FaceBook me if you found the 11th
Owl. You can buy it soft cover,
Kindle, or both. You and your kids
will be the smartest persons in the
room when it comes to the
Revolution.

Why Is Commander Washington Not Wearing Red When Posing With Mentor, Half King

History Teacher from Morgantown, Tom Niner, asked Lorraine a very inportant question--Why Is Commander Washington Not Wearing Red When Posing With Mentor, Half King?
Here Tanacharison (Half KingI) stands in back of the future Revolution  Commander George
Washington.  Here he is shown after the French Indian War with his mentor, Half King
behind him.  He is not wearing red because he learned to hate the British.  One reason--
King George wouldn't give him a coveted promotion.  Of course, there were other
reasons, but this painting presentsWashington as a Colonist with his mentor,  Half
King.  Half King was a first-class warrior, spoke French, provided invaluable
reconnaissance.  He also gave Washington a Native Indian name, Conotocarious.

Have you wondered why our first president was the first president?

Perhaps it was this war experience in the French Indian War, he could ride a horse,
surveyed the county from the Atlantic to the Ohio Territory at the age of 15, learned how to hunt
with a carbine.

He was (without training)  named a Major by the British and off he went to fight one of our most
important wars--the French Indian War.  Luckily, he had a man who had his back,
Half King.

The English just up and gave him the commission of Major in the French Indian War and
he fought with Half King who could speak French and was head of many Seneca
Tribes, including the Iroquois.

Strieby's curiosity and constant research brings these facts.  She is coming back
any minute.  But you should know this to make her book even more valuable.

I tried to finish this painting before Veteran’s Day.

Theses two soldiers were in the French Indian

War, Tanachariison and Conotocarius

Known as Half King, chief of all the Senecas Tribes,

Including the Iroquois.

and Major George Washington. Half King

was the mentor of the young Major. By the

way he always had a pigtail and never wore

a wig. Later in his life he powdered his hair but

always the pigtail. Mixed media on canvas...

They won the war. Washington was proud of

his Native American name and signed

                                                        some documents with this name.

WHO TAUGHT GEORGE WASHINGTON HOW TO BE A WARRIOR - WHY IS A SPY Called a Mole?

Lorraine Strieby is working on a portrait of Major George Washington and Half King
Tanacharison, chief of the Seneca Tribes, including the Irioquois.  West Point was
a fort in Washington's time.  He had a mentor, a very good mentor, who was
Tanacharison. He taught him how to be a warrior.  In the portrait, Half King
is finished except his headdress and Major Washington is drawn in.  This is another
fact and painting for her book, WHY IS A SPY CALLED A MOLE.

Washington and Mr. Billy Lee, (his black Aide) Were the Leaders in the American Revolution, WHY IS A SPY CALLED A MOLE

Commander Washington and a black man, Mr. Billy Lee, Was Their Relationship  Relevant   in
the Revolution?

Yes, a white man and a black man were both responsible for founding our Country.

Oh,  there were many other heroes.  However Washington's main
aide that he depended on mostly was a black man, Mr. Billy Lee.  He was his aide, who
wore a uniform (sometimes fancier than Commander Washington).

Mr.. Billy Lee was the son of Colonel John Lee.

He was the best horseman in the Colonies.

He was beside Washington for 30 years.

He did the finances for Commander Washington.

More importantly, he saved Washington's life more than once.

Historians have hidden this fact or surrounded  it in a lot of other facts.

Washington built him a house on Mount Vernon Estate..

He received an Honorable Discharge from the War.

MOUNTAIN MAN FROM WV, CHARLES BENT, GOVERNOR OF NM, PAINTING OF SHIP ROCK, NEW MEXICO

                                                 SHOULD ARTISTS DATE THEIR WORK?

Did you know that Charles Bent who was a mountain man from Charleston, WV, was the first governor
of the New Mexico Territory? For many years I
was displaying my Southwest art in the Governor
Bent Gallery in Taos, New Mexico. This is one
of my recent paintings, Ship Rock, New Mexico.
The Navajo don’t believe in fences. I was
driving up the 491 and came across this magnificent
Shepherd guarding his sheep.
True Story. Mixed media.  Painted in September 2018.
This painting was done from memory only. One reason not to date paintings. Adds to the
mystery of who you are as an artist.
