Famous Veteran Hero Ever!  I'm posting as Mayor Molly McMole today in honor of Veteran's Day.
First, a history lesson.  Do you know what a Warrant Officer is?  Well the English had this
officer title since the 1600s.  Now a warrant officer is warranted by the country to be in the
military because he/she has special skills.  Well, Commander-in-Chief  George Washington's top
aide was Mr. Billy Lee.  Oh by the way when they retire you are suppose to address them as
"Mr" if he is a man and also "Sir" if that fits.  Well, meet Mr. Billy Lee.  Today officer of
his rank would make approx $160,000 a year.  The Country needs his skills.  Well, here enters
black Warrant Officer, Mr. Billy Lee.  Lorraine Strieby has studied this and wonders
why this officer is one that no one teaches about, so he is relatively unknown, this son of         
Colonel John Lee.  If you  look Mr. Billy Lee up on the Internet her image
of this painting and others will pop up.  Colonel Lee knew that his son was special
when Mr. Billy Lee was three years old.  So, he taught him at a very early age, two languages,
math, and how to ride a horse, and shoot a gun.  When the Colonel died he willed him and his   
brother, Frank, to Washington. While young George Washington and Billy Lee became
very close.  Our first Commander-in-Chief and Warrant Officer Billy Lee were the best
horsemen in the Colonies.  Mr. Billy Lee was constantly with him in the Revolution on his
horse, Chinkling and Commander Washington on his famous horse ever, Nelson.  Nelson
had a white blaze, white stockings, and a sorrel color--Not the white horse, Blue, a pleasure
horse.  Nelson was not afraid of gun fire, the loud noise of cannons, in fact Washington and
Nelson rode as one spirit.  Now here is the thing, Mr. Billy Lee, was the best rider in this
war and young Nation.  Mr. Billy Lee carried a carbine and saved Washington's life more than
once.  Now, how could this officer be neglected and called a slave by the historians of the day
and even today. In one of Washington's journal  he wrote that Mr. Billy Lee, a Warrant Officer, had an
Honorable Discharge.  Oh!  ONE MORE THING--after the Revolution, people came to see
not only the Commander-in-Chief, but to see Mr. Billy Lee ride Chinkling through a
virgin forest.  He was given a stipend and a house on the Mount Vernon Estate.

Artist,Author, Illustrator, Lorraine Strieby is Planning Art Show with Sculptor Jamie Lester, and Deborah Lester

We will keep you posted.  It will be in Los Angeles and will show Statue pictures of Jerry West,
Don Knotts, and Zackquill Morgan.

Jamie Lester also has some new sculptures and Strieby will have a book signing of me,
Mayor Molly McMole.  I might just show up in person.  This will be hard for me because you
know Im a mole and people just don't see moles even though we are often in plain site.

Woohoo, you will see me and Jamie Lester and his mom Deborah Lester will be there too.

You will wonder, who the heck is Zackquill Morgan, well his father and him founded
Morgantown, WV.  Zack  also fought under Commander-in-Chief George Washington
in both the French and Indian War and the American Revolution.  Not many soldiers
did that.

If you read my blogs you know about old Zack, WHY IS A SPY CALLED A MOLE.

Mayor Molly McMole Is Showing Off Lorraine Strieby's Oaxacan Artistic Tiles, Children Books, and Travel Board Game

Lorraine Strieby is out of the office now so I'm doing her blog.  For the  last three weeks
she was  invited by the Chatsworth Fine Arts  Council to display her books in the
Los Angeles/Chatsworth Train Station Window where hundreds of passengers  pass
by.

While all this was going on she painted a mural above her stove in the kitchen.  She used
to paint  tiles for the Wing Gallery in Sherman Oaks, CA and was  even invited to
demonstrate her work at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills one Saturday.  These tiles
have all been sold.

In her kitchen she sanded the glossy tiles, and gessoed the design and you can see the
final result.  Her latest children's book was just published by Amazon/Kindle and is
called FOOTBALL HANDBOOK.  I help a losing coach in this book and has a
surprising cure for a losing team.  The coach is afraid of being fired and me, the mole and
Sophia the Cat solve her problem.  All six of her books, starring  me are sold on
Amazon and Kindle. Strieby was a teacher and an illustrator.  In discussion for a

ADAM AND EVE BY LORRAINE STRIEBY FOUND IN HER BOOK, ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME

A LOT OF ARTISTS DO THEIR RENDITION OF ADAM AND EVE.  HERE IS LORRAINE
STRIEBY'S VERSION

Im glad that Strieby left her studio.  I have been dying to write about why she put this in
her 3rd children's book, "All Roads Lead to Rome."

She discovered Botticelli's Venus and Michelangelo's David was in Florence a few blocks
away from each other.  Venus was in the Uffizi Museum and David has a museum all of his own.

Well, Strieby also had a statue of David in a checkerboard pattern so checkerboard was it.
If you look closely you will see the Cheshire Cat in the shell with her paint box.

The mole, Gus, acs up in the Uffizi and thanks to Abby we ride in a cart which she hooked
up to her motor cycle.  Your children will learn a lot about Italy in this book.

ORCAS, SURFING, ALASKA, IN CHILDREN'S BOOK BY LORRAINE STRIEBY

ORCAS ARE FEATURED IN LORRAINE STRIEBY'S CHILDREN BOOK, MAYOR MOLLY MCMOLE MEETS VINNIE THE SHREW

Strieby has lived in Southern California but has traveled all over the world.  Just north
of Seattle is a wonderful channel that looks like glass and she shows this in her book
when I meet my cousin, Vinnie the Shrew.  Vinnie deals in real estate and specializes in
selling and renting ice castles.  In the channel we saw these orcas!

We traveled up the coast and saw the Cascade Mountains, the Golden Gate Bridge, and lots of
things.  We even made surf boards and surfed  off the coast of Santa Barbara and the Gulf of
Alaska.

Your child will learn a lot from this electronic book, sold on Kindle  Vinnie is also
a bush pilot so he flew us to the Anchorage Airport on our way to Rome.
