Bernini and his Four Rivers Fountain in Rome, by Sandro,, The Artist Mole

Gian Bernini

Today I’m  going to start by writing about the artist that
blew me away at Rome with the four river statues
representing the Ganges, Nile, Danube, and the
 Reo de la Plata.

Hey, the Pope of the day didn’t want Bernini to do this.
He wanted another artist, but Bernini was able to
enter the jurying anonymously and the Pope
chose his entry.

We artist have to work hard, but Bernini was
a play writer and an architect, and a prudent business
man.  I loved Navona Square and went there to play
in the fountain at night and slid down the leg of
the Nile River God.

Mayor Molly was upset with me, but I couldn’t resist.
Talk about luck and skill, Michelangelo was old and
Bernini won the job of finishing St. Peter’s and in
the process sign as the Chief Architect even though
Michelangelo did most of the work.

MAYOR MOLLY MCMOLE WILL BE IN LONG BEACH APRIL 6, 2017

Greetings from Mayor Molly McMole and Mole Sandro, Artist

Yes, I,  Mayor Molly McMole, will be in Long Beach
on April 6, 2017!

Lorraine Strieby will read from her first book, "Cat Sophia and
Mayor Molly McMole."  Perhaps Sophia will be there
also, if she can get permission from the school.

Half way through her reading I will pose for the students
so the students can draw me and use watercolors. If they
let a mole in they surely would let a cat in, don’t you think?

Hello Out There!  I am Sandro, the Artist Mole.  You might be
interested  on how we moles can make castles under the ground.
It is simple.  The owners grew onions that are underground.
So we simply dug rectangles under the onions and chewed
off the tops.  Moles, Fredie  and Keith, with long teeth,  shaped
the rectangles and used a recipe found on Spider Leggs' web
to make the castles permanent. beautiful, and magical
because, of course, I painted them.

Bye for now.  Strieby will return any minute.

"Adam and Eve" by Lorraine Strieby and Sandro the Mole

This is Sandro again.  Rome and Florence inspired me and
also Strieby.  While Gus, our Omega Mole, was doing
cartwheels in the Uffizi Museum, Strieby and I were
getting a sketch of Botticelli’s Venus and then we
went out on the square and sketched Michelangelo’s
David (the fake one). These famous works of art are
only a few blocks away from each other  so it was
a perfect match for "Adam and Eve."

You can see our version in Strieby’s “All Roads
Lead to Rome.”  A lot of artists paint their version
Of Adam and Eve, and this is our painting.

It took about a year, and Strieby said this is for
our collection only, but you can see an image of  our "Adam and Eve"
in Book 3, on Amazon/Kindle..

I can’t wait to write about Bernini, but I hear
her car coming.  I’ll hop in my redoubt,  under
Tunnel I-5 so she can't find me.  Bye, Sandro

ICE CASTLES AND PERMANENT SAND CASTLES BY SANDRO IN THE MAYOR MOLLY MCMOLE SERIES

My name is Sandro and live in the Mayor Molly McMole Series.
Part of the time I live in Valdez, Alaska, and work for
Vinnie the Shrew during the winter by carving ice castles.

When our whole crew visited Florence and Rome in Strieby’s
book, “All Roads Lead to Rome,” I did sketches of Medieval
architecture and couldn’t wait to work for Vinnie, a shrew who is a real
estate mole who rents out twinkling ice castles that are a joy to
see.  I am getting better at it and when we get to
Hawaii I will be in charge of building a permanent
sand castle.  Tourists love to see my work.

Thank you, Molly, for letting me borrow Strieby’s
laptop, and thank you, Spider Leggs, for finding that

recipe  for permanent sand castles.

You can find the story in Book 3 and 4 of Lorraine Strieby's
The Mayor Molly McMole Series

KILAUEA JUST SPILLED LAVA ALL OVER THE PLACE, JUST LIKE A MESSY CHILD

VOLCANOES  are always erupting all over the world, however, it seems
that the volcanoes in Hawaii are always going off.  Kilauea just
spewed lava yesterday all over the place,.  Lorraine Strieby explains to your
child about  how shield volcanoes are formed and consequently
how Hawaii was formed.

Even a mole like me can understand it when she puts words to
a page.  Remember, you and your child can read it on Amazon/
Kindle in her fourth book, Mayor Molly McMole Follows the
Sun.”

Do you know the difference between  shield and Pelean volcanoes?

PELEANS  were named after the beautiful Hawaiian Goddess Pele.
They also blow their tops.  Shields are nice and smooth.
Strieby makes PELE so beautiful and powerful holding the sun
and moon in her arms. Take a look in her new book.

Hey, Sandro wants to get into the act.  So my dear friend
will be blogging too when Strieby is away.

Got to scamper, I here Strieby coming!  BYE

Spy Called a Mole

This is me again.  Wow, did you hear the news today.
There is a mole in the CiA.

Lorraine Strieby doesn’t know that I am writing this, but
her fifth book is coming out soon—"Why Is a Spy Called a
Mole?"

It tells how my famous ancestor, Christopher McMole,
helped George Washington win the Revolutionary War.
I read it and your toddler will know more about the
Revolution than most adults.

I overheard that I will narrate the story.  Your Mole Friend,

Mayor Molly McMole
This  adventure series book will be  on Amazon soon.

Cat The Nafarious SNOOKIMS in All Roads Lead to Rome

The villain cat in the Mayor Molly McMole series is glaring at
me as I type this message.  Being a Mayor and a Mole he
does not know how to take me on. You see, I am a dear friend
of the brave hero cat, Sophia.

Just imagine Sophia the cat and Abby riding a motorcycle
through the streets of Florence and Rome.  You get the
picture. Snookims is jealous, but he gets his come-up-ins
in Lorraine Strieby’s 4th book taking place in Kauai, Mayor
Molly McMole Follows the Sun.  Amazon/Kindle

Hear Strieby coming, Got to go!!
