George Washington in the Revolution and His horse, Nelson, and his dog, dalmatian Madame Moose

In All Stories About Washington Seldom is His Horse, Nelson,  War Horse, and his dog, Madame Moose Mentioned

First of all, Nelson, was probably the most famous horse ever.  Washington's war horse that was not afraid of gun shots, cannon fire, and war.  He and Washington worked as one spirit.
His dalmatian was with him also, to guard against wolves.  Nelson, Mr. Billy Lee's horse, Chinkling,
and Alexander's Horse eating.  If you look closely you can see
a wolf howling at the moon.

These animals are featured in "Why is a Spy called a Mole" by my creator
and, of course, she created my ancestor, Spy Master Christopher McMole.

Did you know that after the Revolution colonists who visited Mount Vernon to see the President to be, Commander-in-Chief Washington, also wanted to see Mr. Billy Lee ride Chinkling through a virgin forest.  Warrant Officer Mr. Billy Lee was Washington's BFF and saved Washington's life more than once.  Historians of the day never picked up on this even though he was painted in Washington's portraits.  Wonder why that was?.....hmmmm
Even today.

Time for me to quit typing away.  You should see my palaces down the Mole Hole.
I  live in the fanciest one, onion domes and all

Mayor Molly McMole Bets that You Don't Know What Happened to General Benedict Arnold, Worst Spy Ever

Where is Commander George Washington and Who is Benny?

Here I am again writing as Lorraine Strieby.  This painting is of West Point Fort where a guy by the name of General  Benedict Arnold was suppose to keep the Fort maintained. Instead he was waiting to
kill Commander Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Warrant Officer, Mr. Billy Lee.

Washington was looking forward to a good breakfast but Benny knew that a spy named
John Anderson/Andre had been captured by three soldiers and he had papers in his sock that told of the plan so Benny fled in a Military raft down the Hudson to a ship named The Vulture which  he captained for a year and fled to the North and later back to England.  Talk about traitors  this guy
was probably the worst, ever.  Now if anyone asks you who was Benedict Arnold you are going to know.  Right?
Well I have to go, hop down my mole hole.  Strieby makes the Revolution fun to read.

Mayor Molly McMole Explains a Republic

MAYOR MOLLY McMOLE EXPLAINS THE REPUBLIC

As you  know Commander-in-Chief hated King George because how he treated him and his fellow colonists.  After the Revolution Washington hated the idea of being elected as a King.  The power should be with the people and our Government was designed as a Republic.  Little Rhode Island and Delaware wanted to be as strong as Virginia and New York.  That is why all states have two senators
and the states have an electoral college.  Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.
They had all experienced European tyranny, a cruel and oppressive government and this they never wanted to live under this way again.

My ancestor, Christopher McMole, was a master spy for Commander Washington and did
a good job.  In my small way as Mayor of Mole Town I lead a tribe of moles.  We are actually a
tribe without a country--nomads.  This happened when  a contractor trying to earn a living covered
up our  Mole Town with 6 inches of concrete for a parking lot.

Our tribe had a meeting and voted to travel to a far-away place because on our own we could only travel a few blocks.  So...we hopped into an open car trunk and hoped for the best.  Well,
living in Los Angeles we only got as far as Santa Barbara where we learned to surf.  Then we took a chance and hopped into the back of a Peterbilt while the driver stopped for gas and
we were on our way to places unknown.  Thanks to moles Keith and Fred they chewed small
holes in the trailer so we could see the sights along the way and I almost lost it in Seattle when we were loaded onto a ferry going to Alaska.  Well, we couldn't go this way on our own.
To make a long series (6 books) short we lived in an ice castle in Valdez, Alaska, hotels in Rome and
Florence and a condo in Kauai, and for now back to California under a football field at College Prep Tech.  You can read about it in "Football Handbook."

I didn't make these decisions on my own, Cat Sophia turned out to be crafty and a spy.
Spider Leggs had a web (not any web but electronic that sparked its way to the internet).
Keith and Fred were our go--to guys who could build sand castles, Gus who gave us a
laugh and got us in trouble, but we worked together and even had a human guide, Abby,
who was a grad of USC and owned a restaurant in Alaska and made enough money
to take us all to Italy and Hawaii in the winter months.  We worked together just like
a Republic.  Even though we were small and Abby was tall we worked together and had
few arguments but we worked it out and respected each other.

Lets think that our Congress stops playing games with the American citizens and work together
and with our President to fight this pandemic.  This is bigger than them and they need
to be the Republic that we can again be proud.

Mayor Molly McMole Wishes You a Safe Couple of Months, We Can Get Through This.

I'm scared to death but I planned this party to make a friend out of Cat Sophia and it
worked.  My hands are trembling but I put my fears aside for my tribe of moles.
After all I'm Mayor Molly McMole, problem solver, extraordinaire.  Sophia was
an adversary who fell down the mole hole, tunnel after tunnel until she hit Mole Town.
What happened was that we became best friends and had many adventures together.

We visited Alaska, Italy and Kauai and we meant a villain along the way.  Sophia was
a good sport and helped me solve many problems along the way.

Right now I wish all my fans  a safe couple of months.

Mayor Molly McMole a Real Live Shot

This is me, Mayor Molly McMole

I was going  through Lorraine Strieby's photos today and I found a live shot of me.
Notice my pink paw claws.  My tribe of moles do a lot of the tunneling while
I supervise.  I'm a good at supervising.   Sometimes Gus gives some trouble
but I keep him in line.  Notice my bracelet and tam.  When Strieby reads to students I go along
in this hat box.  I love my tam and you can't see my boots but they show off my
outfit.  My tribe calls me a fashionista behind by back.
Well I have to go down my mole hole now but I'll be back
By the way, Lorraine Strieby doesn't claim to be Dr. Seuss
but she write like him with words that sound good to
children and the storyteller as well...
