GEORGE WASHINGTON--TAUGHT BY THE IROQUOIS TO FIGHT AND LED HIS TROOPS WITH BLACK AIDE MR. BILLY LEE

Now that you know I write as Mayor Molly McMole in a blog about the adventures of Mayor Molly McMole and her mole tribe, she also wrote a book, staring this hero.  Yes, her ancestor, Master Spy Christopher McMole was his spy--WHY IS A MOLE CALLED A SPY.

Why not, spies are secretive little fellows. Not only that they live underground, they also come out during the day but no one sees them.  Have you ever seen a mole?  I think not...

Well, Washington was a self-trained officer.  At first he paid to get a commission in the French Indian War at 21 a very young age.  A couple of famous Senecas taught him how to fight, and a black man  became his best friend and aide in the American Revolution.

Now what is amazing is he paid to get into the first war, the French Indian, and was only 21 and his commander, General Braddock got himself killed, and this kid was left as one of the leaders, fighting along side the Senecas and fighting like a Seneca.

That was easy for him because at an early age he learned to ride a horse.  Now in the Revolution, he didn't ride any horse, he rode the most famous horse ever, Nelson was his name.  The  horse is not the white one you see in pictures, but a sorrel with white stockings and an uneven blaze.  Together they were dynamite, one spirit, perfect for leading the troops, along with black Aide, Mr. Billy Lee, a better horseman than Washington.  This guy Mr. Billy Lee saved Washington's life a couple of times in the war.

Now here is the SAD thing--what I just wrote was all true and I bet you never knew.  Why??? Because they don't teach American History.  They don't think it is important--that people came to escape tyranny and wrote the American Constitution, one of the greatest documents every written.

MAYOR MOLLY MCMOLE WRITES A BLOG ABOUT HER ADVENTURES--LORRAINE STRIEBY WILL BE WATCHING THE WVU, SYRACUSE SWEET SIXTEEN TONIGHT.

Here I am having a sip of tea with my "friend, Sophia".  Do you see my paw?  Well, it is shaking.

You see I am a mole, disguised as a mouse, thinking that this would save me and my mole tribe.

Then I had to sweet talk her and  I actually treated her to live music by the Mole Rats and fed her tuna rolls which she loved and wanted more.

The story tales are on Amazon and Kindle and each one teaches something.

At this time with home teaching these books will make the job easier.  Mayor Molly McMole, that's me had an ancestor Christopher McMole who was Master Spy to Commander George Washington in the American Revolution--fantasy based on fact.  Lorraine Strieby wonders why she was never taught why Washington was so great.  He led the troops on his horse, Nelson, and his Aide, Warrant Officer, black Mr. Billy Lee, Honorable Discharge.  Washington loved Mr. Billy Lee so much he built him a house on his property, Mount Vernon.

Strieby suspects that I use her computer so so long for now.  She will watch WVU basketball tonight, playing Syracuse in Sweet 16.  I think I'll watch too.  Bye for now.  Mayor Molly McMole

Traveling with Mayor Molly McMole Without a Mask in the Comfort of Your Own Home

Why Is a Spy Called a Mole

People ask Lorraine Strieby why she wrote about me and my mole tribe.   As you can see she expended a lot of energy and one book led to another book and yet another and finally there were six children's books.

Since a lot of children are home you might consider reading about me.  You see Strieby traveled  extensively and she didn't get a TV until she was twelve years old so she had to develop her imagination.  Then I came into her life--not in a good way.  She had kids and horses and I dig holes and leave mole holes and mounds of dirt.  I didn't do all of the digging because I had a tribe of moles, some artistic and builders of castles, and an omega mole

who gets into some trouble.  Since you and your kids can't travel like we used to, well, these books will take you to some pretty exotic places.  Here we go--we are going to ride in a Peterbilt, a ferry boat, a trip with a bush pilot, Cousin Vinnie the Shrew, a jet plane, a motor cycle, surfboard,  and an automobile. In one of her books, Why is a Spy Called a Mole, she writes about her ancestor Christopher McMole who was a master spy for Commander George Washington, no less.  You are even going to ride a horse and see an eerie ship, named The Vulture.

On this 6 book journey you will see The Golden Gate Bridge, the Cascade Mountains, the Gulf of Alaska, Bernini's Four River Fountain, The Coliseum in Rome, Vatican, Uffitzi Museum, Adam and Eve, Florence, and some of the Hawaii Islands.  You can find her books on Amazon and Kindle.

Well, Strieby doesn't know I type on her blog, so I will say good evening and hop down my mole hole that is under the bleachers at a high school where we end up helping a losing coach get a trophy for being the best coach in her league--bye bye.  Strieby's motto is "Read to a Child",  Mayor Molly McMole, Lorraine Strieby Productions  #molehole #gulfofalaska #uffitzimueseum  #adamandeve #italy #hawaii

Mount Vernon's Roof

Mount Vernon's Roof

Colonists used to come to see the owner and, of course, look at his  roof.  You can see it  in Lorraine Strieby's  book, Why Is a Spy Called a Mole?

Commander-in-Chief  George Washington liked the red tiled roofs in Europe and
tiles just didn't exist in the colonies, so he elected to have old-growth cypress trees cut in  fan shapes and then have them painted red.  Cypress trees are the most
water resistant wood.

Since red-tiled roofs didn't exist  in America,  after the Revolution the citizens not only  came to give their regards to President Washington and to see Mr. Billy Lee ride his horse, Chinkling, but to see the mansion with the red roof.  It was the only red roof in the colonies.

If you haven't read about Mr. Billy Lee, he was the black Aide (not slave)  that
rode with Washington in front of the troops in the Revolution and was the best horseman in the Colonies, along with Washington. (It's fun to see how many famous paintings Mr. Billy Lee was painted with George Washington and historians didn't write about him.)
Two men did and they each received the Pulitzer Prize.

Strieby will write about this soon because authors just didn't give black people their rightful place in history.  For example in NASA there were black women engineers who were so good in math that they helped map the way to get the astronauts to the moon and in Apollo 13 helped the pilot of the disabled capsule to arrive safely to Earth. The computers of the day used their work and I believe still do.

Finally in Hidden Figures author, Margot Lee Shetterly, wrote this book and it became
a movie.

Well, remember I'm Mayor Molly McMole and help sometimes to blog with Lorraine Strieby.

Her writing skill is a little like Dr. Seuss and her books teach, and are illustrated by her.
You and your young ones will learn geography, history and  art with a bit of whimsey, (lots of illustrations} fantasy based on fact. She does have a teaching degree you know.

And she knows I have her password and blogs for her sometimes.  Not so easy with my chubby paws and long claws.

Time for me to depart down my mole hole.  Sophia the Cat and I  are going to have tea. Mayor Molly McMole, MMM

WHAT FOREFATHER DIDN'T SIGN THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE?

THAT'S MR. BILLY LEE ON CHINKLING IN FRONT OF COMMANDER WASHINGTON ON HIS WAR  HORSE,  NELSON

This is an important time in our history as a country.  History in our public schools seems to have taken

a back seat or emphasis on what is wrong with the USA.  Our first president and warrior in both the

French and Indian War and the American Revolution did NOT sign the Declaration of Independence.

Neither did Alexander Hamilton.

Great warriors had a purpose they were fighting for.  In William Wallace's case he was fighting

against the Brits to free Scotland from the abusive Brits.  Mel Gibson played him in the movie,

"Brave Heart" and Wallace  was killed by the British.  Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty or death."

When patriots pay high taxes, can't vote, can't practice their religion, are told what to do and not what to do in their own homes, have uneven rules, leaders ignore the rights of their citizens who pay taxes, there is unrest.

Well, like Wallace, Commander-in-Chief George Washington, was the warrior who fought the British.

His performance in the French Indian War led to him being this leader among men to get our rights back.

He used guerrilla warfare, creative generals, and he was also creative and the best horseman in the land on his most famous war horse, Nelson, and he had two aides that he depended on--Alexander Hamilton andMr. Billy lee on his horse, Chinkling.  In at least 6 famous paintings of George Washington, the artists of the day painted George Washington with Mr. Billy Lee and these two led the troops into battle, Commander-in-Chief George Washington and black Mr. Billy Lee.

Cowboy actor John Wayne said, "You may be scared to death, but you saddle up anyway."

The reason Washington and Hamilton didn't sign the Declaration of Independence is they were saddling up and fighting for our rights in New York City against the British.

Bet you weren't taught this in school

Well,  Strieby is busy moving her office and studio so I am writing this bit of information since a lot of students are being home-schooled these days I thought I'd help a little.  You know my ancestor, Christopher McMole, was a Master Spy for Washington so I keep up on President Washington and wonder why the people in Washington, DC seem to forget or not know about the man who was a real hero.

A good book to learn about the American Revolution is "Why is a Spy Called a Mole," by Lorraine Strieby, Amazon and Kindle

Did you know Washington used to ride in front of his troops back and forth to taunt the Brits?

Bet not.

Well, I'm going down my Mole Hole

Just thought you all should know another reason to love our country

Bye, Mayor Molly McMole,  MMM
