For some reason, West Virginia keeps their fame in its vest pocket.

Have you ever heard of Colonel Zackquill Morgan who served under
Commander General Washington?  Probably not.

Who always was there to protect Washington?  Who did his finances and
knew more about horses and dogs than anyone in the colonies?

Did you know that the white horse that painters of the day painted was NOT his horse of choice but his most famous horse was named--Nelson.

Most of us had a favorite teacher and we can bring up his/her name just like that.  For
me it was Mrs. Morgan, First Ward Elementary, Morgantown, West Virginia. I truly
loved her.  She taught a lot but not why Commander Washington deserved to

Geprge Washingtton Cheer Leader--He was a dog lover (50 dogs)

You are going to meet one of Washington's dogs, Madame Moose, a dalmatian,
who guarded several horses during the Revolutionary War.

The Commander Washington left behind 49 dogs when he went to war, including Sweetlips and Vulcan who had a tremendous
appetite and stole a ham from Martha's kitchen before a dinner party. Washington laughted
heartily--not so much, Martha. 

These are just facts, but we owe a lot to George Washington and his four-legged friend,
